There are some lives that don’t follow a plan. They flow like rivers — wild, intuitive, guided by something deeper than logic.
Such is the life of our beloved master, Maitreya — previously known as Yaahoo Baba.
We in Utsav Sangha have been blessed to walk alongside him in what has become a growing movement of truth-seekers, lovers of celebration, and souls longing to remember who they truly are.
Before He Was Maitreya
Maitreya was born as Shaurya Vardhen Pandey, in a village on the border of Nepal in northern India. His early life was simple — grounded in family, land, and work. After completing intermediate school, he married and returned to live as a farmer, living a peaceful life outwardly.
But inside, something else was moving.
He began exploring energy work and healing in the 1990s, becoming a Reiki master and learning the ancient arts of Ayurveda, palmistry, and bodywork. He studied Yoga deeply and practiced silence long before words ever left his mouth in satsang.
The Turning Point
It was through a series of inner experiences and deep sadhana that his spiritual journey began to intensify. He encountered the teachings of Osho and dove into the mystical sciences — Zen, Tantra, Bhakti, Sufi meditation, Bardo techniques.
But it was his meeting with Sri Sarvadaman Banerjee that became the moment of satori — the cracking open. Later, under the grace of Sri Mooji Baba, enlightenment revealed itself completely.
Seven years after that, satsang began to emerge from him.
Not as a decision.
Not as a mission.
Just as something natural, uncontainable.
The Birth of Utsav Sangha
Maitreya’s satsang began in Rishikesh in 2021, when he was known as Yaahoo Baba. From those early daily gatherings, a sangha naturally began to form—first called Anatta Sangha. Over time, this sangha evolved into what is now Utsav Sangha. Today, Utsav Sangha continues to grow as a global community drawn to the clarity, simplicity, and love that radiate from Maitreya’s presence.
Through satsangs, immersive retreats, healing therapies, and Utsav Kirtan (the music that poured out of this space), thousands have touched something they had forgotten: their own true nature.
Who Is Maitreya?
To us Maitreya is a mirror.
He is a living reminder that truth is not a concept. It is what you already are, beneath all seeking.
Even though he has moved through many names, Shaurya Vardhen Pandey, Yaahoo Baba – to us at Utsav Sangha, he is our guru, our guide, our Master – our beloved Maitreya
